Detalles de la observación
First reported at this location yesterday Friday 1 Sept 2023 by CEX’s Annie Owen and Richard Stuhr. Very large, very tall, very pink birds with long pink necks, pink bodies, and long pink legs; large flamingo-shaped head/ bill; very pale eye/iris joined to a white facial shield; bill heavily decurved pink with black tip. Both birds were wading together in Upper Summerhouse Pond close to the Turkey Walk Trail dike. Both were actively submerging their whole heads under the water presumably feeding. This pair obviously brought in by Hurricane/Tropical Storm Idalia that blew through SC 3 days ago. Additional comments regarding the storm event included under checklist Comments.
