Detalles de la observación
*Rare. Continuing birds from the incredible Red Phalarope fallout since a Nor'easter on 4/30. Winds shifted to easterlies yesterday 5/4, pushing some birds towards Norfolk Co and even Suffolk Co. First two birds (one breeding one non) seen in the left-hand Harlequin Duck spot next to Doctor Island. It was tough to see them well with the choppy waves, but luckily there was a breeding plumaged bird right up close to the shoreline in the surf, where it stayed the entire time. Later I had two breeding plumage birds about 100-200 yards to the left of Doctor Island, and further out. Also another breeding plumage bird further towards Hull on a second checklist, for at least 5 and maybe 6 total.
