Detalles de la observación
First documented Western Meadowlark confirmed to species for Anchorage. Found by T. Stevenson in the morning and seen by many throughout the day. Classic Meadowlark with heavily streaked brownish back and yellow throat, breast, and belly with dark "V" over the upper breast. Eastern eliminated mostly based on tail, with white in tail restricted to r6, r5, and only partial white on r4 compared to r6 to r4 or r3 being mostly white in Eastern. Tail also showed thin banding on central rectrices with dark bars completely separated between bands and not joining at the shaft (unlike Eastern). Yellow from throat also bleeding into malar.
