Detalles de la observación
1st known site record for Negri Nepote and a very rarely reported species within Somerset County as a whole (all my previous personal county records are of calling overhead nocturnal migrants); singing sporadically from within cattail stand in front of blind upon arrival at pond at around 6:25am; rhythmic, guttural, low frequency song made up of a series of 5+ evenly paced notes; no other vocalizations heard and no visuals (by me); despite the rather small area that this bird was occupying and despite trying on 2 separate occasions totaling roughly 100 minutes, I was unable to get visuals on this bird (Susan Treesh saw it pop up and make a short flight in cattails at roughly 8am); very poor audio dominated by Green Frogs
