Male RLHA (B. l. sanctijohannis or B. l. kamtchatkensis)
Detalles de la observación
*****Two breeding RLHAs on Gambell, the female RLHA was a B. l. kamtchatkensis. The B. l. kamtchatkensis is a subspecies of RLHAs that breed in north Siberia and are a potential vagrant to Alaska. It has paler plumage when compared with B. l. sanctijohannis (the NA subspecies). I'm unsure of whether the male RLHA that bred on Gambell was a B. l. sanctijohannis or B. l. kamtchatkensis. It was quiet pale in comparison to male B. l. sanctijohannis RLHAs that I have seen. Photos of both male and female birds from May. 31, 2016 below.
