Detalles de la observación
Continuing rarity found by Pat Rose on the 13th at her feeders. Today the bird seemed reluctant to come down to the feeders at first, but 10 mins or so after we arrived it came down to the sunflower seeds and fed for long periods of time with only brief flights back up to the trees. Looks to be a HY (a few median coverts look replaced - black with crisp white edges compared to the brown greater and primary coverts and the flight feathers) male, very orange breast with sparse fine streaks on the flanks, yellow in the middle lower belly, white undertail coverts, plain brown rump, brown streaked back with a very orange rusty hind collar, prominently marked head and face (see photos). In flight the yellow lesser underwing coverts could easily be seen.
