Detalles de la observación
**Rare, irruptive, and irrupting at this time. We had been observing an adult bald eagle when I looked up and noticed a few finches sitting quietly in an ornamental deciduous tree near the gazebo on the southeastern side of the lake, making some soft chatter. I presumed house finches pre-glass and was pretty surprised to see a trio of red crossbills. I quickly called Mike back and he set up his scope so we could observe them up close. One beautiful male (pictured) and two female/immature types. Presumably just arrived off the water; we saw a few finches fly in off the bay at Fort Wadsworth earlier in the day which may have also been red crossbills. Life bird.
