Detalles de la observación
*Rare in BC; adult first spotted by MAE as it dropped into the main flat with 2 LEYE where we studied for a bit before it flushed. The bird was a hunky football with a fairly rounded back. This adult bird showed an entirely rufous belly up into flanks. The neck was all rufous but for some darker streaking near the base. Scapulars were fairly worn but showed dark centers with rufous bars and pale tips. In-flight it showed a white underwing at the frontal base and pale secondaries. The final touch which sold me on this bird was the quick high-pitched "keek" it gave when it flushed with the 2 LEYE. Something that I didn't really notice in the field but maybe could be said the first bird is that its bill is fairly long. Thankfully I was able to record. Bird calls at .1, .3, and .5 seconds. A LEYE also calls at late .1 seconds after the first call Pics
