Upland Sandpiper at the Shelley Sludge Lagoons near Prince George, BC
Detalles de la observación
Mom spotted it in the grass by the third pond as I was about to get out of the car. I managed one quick photo through the windshield before it disappeared into the grass. I saw it again briefly running through the grass on the bank between the two ponds. When it reached the end of the bank it flew--heading south. Distinctive medium sized sandpiper with long thin neck, small head and large dark eye. Short yellowish bill and yellow legs. It repeated a three part call three times as it flew.
