Detalles de la observación
I at first thought one bird was an immature Wilson's Snipe but it just didn't look right, and for the following reasons I tried to make it a Short-billed Dowitcher in molt. It did not have the characteristic distinct striped head or back of a Wilson's Snipe. It had grayish wings, and stood slightly taller with a longer tail than the nearby WISN . It's bill, although similar in length appeared slightly thicker and with a slight bend about halfway down the bill where the Snipe's bill was straight throughout. It had greenish-gray legs. The barring on the flanks and breast was narrower and it had thin alternating dark and buffy barring at the base of the tail, but no rufous tip as on the shorter tail of the Snipe. apparently both are WISN
