Detalles de la observación
A few small groups flew by the creek mouth at different times, and they clearly passed through San Mateo County airspace. The most I saw at once was eight. Small gulls with light gray mantle coloration, contrasting white coloration on the outer leading edge of each wing, and a small strip of black on the trailing edge. The attached photo shows a distant group of six birds, with one bird showing a hint of the contrasting white in the wing. At the adjacent Palo Alto Baylands, counts of tens or hundreds of this species are regular at this season.
