Detalles de la observación
Continuing here with flock of House Finch and American Goldfinch. A small passerine, size of goldfinch. Short conical bill and short forked tail. Strikingly white on first impression. Mostly seen from underneath as it sat high in treetops. Head whitish and pale gray, with very faintly darker auriculars. Small red patch on crown. Smudgy black in front of eyes and small black patch under bill. White underside with light streaking on breast sides, and two rows continuing along flanks. White undertail with one streak in center towards tip. Back with dark streaks, base color whitish in center and pale gray otherwise. Rump white with no streaks. Wings blackish with one visible white wingbar and white feather edging on secondaries. Best separated from Common Redpoll by unstreaked rump and single streak on undertail, supported by overall appearance of pale whitish bird without brown tones on face, back or flanks.
