Large, thick-bodied hawk. Made nearby RTHA look fairly small. Long yellow gape reaching back to the eye. Never got a good clear look from the front as it remained facing the wind while perched on the ground. Pale tail. Zooming in on photos show feathered legs. Poor lighting for photos but those provided i think are pretty desciptive. Bird flew south as it started to rain pretty hard but I think it's still around. NOTE: The location of this bird was in an open field about a half mile west on CR 730 after you turn off of Highway TT at the curve...not where the ebird "Hotspot" is located. I have updated the record to reflect this specific location.
