Detalles de la observación
Continuing rarity, foraging boldly along the shoreline almost the entire observation period, would dart into the taller cattails for brief periods but would return. Did not seem at all interested or intimidated of nearby observers. It swam a few times and then wandered right up the bank, between someone’s legs and into the tall grass on the hillside of the dike. Very superficially like a large Sora or Virginia Rail if you were only able to observe the backside but as soon as you get a view of the head, you see the huge, greenish-yellow bill with red gape, bright red eye, and spotted breast and neck.
