Had been talking with a local during observation. He said that relative often white-tailed eagles could be seen hunting (king) eider during winter, although not so much this winter as it had been much less ice (thus the eiders were less concentrated), but a few days ago he had seen three of them in the area. This was confirmed by another person coming when I was packing down my equipment for walking to another spot. Had just packed everything when they said: There it is... Passed on around 50 m distance. Dark against the sky, no white areas on tail (thus, a youngster). When I had my camera out it had disappeared behind a hill. Got some unfocused photos when it again was seen on 200-300 m distance.
