Detalles de la observación
Feeding in the tops of white pines along the beaver pond. For awhile their "kip kip kip" call notes were nearly constant. The chair on the rise at Beaver Pond Trail was a good place to sit and wait for them to appear. Males and female-types seen. It's hard to say how many there were, but the largest in-flight group I saw numbered about 12, so I'm using that as a count. Probably an underestimate! Note: identified by audio as "type 10" Red Crossbills by Matthew Young. (But now known as "type 12".)
