Upon hearing the surprising (to me) soft singing of this bird I quickly grabbed some short video (with audio) clips to help in the identification. LPCM Audio file has been extracted from one of those video files, cleaned up in Audacity (high pass filter and notch filter to help mitigate construction generator noise from a hundred yards away along entrance road), file converted to 24-bit 48kHz .WAV per eBird recommendations. Of note is characteristic (re: Peterson's, Field Guide of Bird Sounds of Eastern North America. p.338) ascending song pattern of the Olive-backed (swainsoni) variant of the Swainson's Thrush both heard and seen in the audio spectrogram.
Detalles de la observación
Non-skittish SWTH (Olive-backed) observed and recorded (see and hear attached) at entrance gate signs. Of particular note (and surprise to this observer) was the quiet (soft) singing of this bird, quite unlike the louder thrush songs with which I 'm more familiar!
