Non-breeding Caspian Terns sitting on seagrass wrack with Greater Crested Terns. Caspian Terns (Hydroprogne caspia) are the world’s largest species of tern – they are easy to identify from their large size and large orange-red bill. They have a wide yet scattered distribution, from North America, to Europe, Asia, Africa and Australasia. These non-breeding Caspian Terns were resting on seagrass wrack in the Port Kennedy Scientific Park, with several Greater Crested Terns nearby. Elevation: 0 m. Date added to IBC: March 18, 2019.
