Detalles de la observación
See trip report. For my checklist, I will add what was regarded by those who saw it at the time as a second Salvins. The first bird was a cracking diagnostic specimen, a dark-headed, hunched up little bird, which is the worst of these three photographs. The second bird was a very interesting case; I spotted it flying in right behind its Antarctic friend, and thought to myself its bill looked almost frog-like, on account of that tiny nail and stout upper-mandilbe. I showed Rohan the photos immediately afterwards, and he instantly said it looked good for Salvins. Then it was forgotten amongst the many thrills and spills of the day... I'm very happy with the last photo, which shows that more often than not Salvin's characteristic of the streaked under tail!
