Detalles de la observación
Whiteface with an obvious breast band. Had a decent look as it moved along with other whitefaces in flock. Thought I had a possible Gray Honeyeater in the same flock (never confirmed that, so not reporting), was distracted following that bird (which was then chased off by a Black Honeyeater), lost the Banded Whiteface in the process. May have recording of its calls, as I was recording Southern Whiteface just prior. Will review sounds for confirmation when done with trip. Update: reviewed recordings. Found the calls of the bird I was recording when I thought I was chasing the Gray Honeyeater. They are a good (but not perfect) match for some recordings of this species made by Dave Stewart. They are the high-pitched buzzy notes interspersed with the Southern Whitefaces the bird was traveling with. If anyone can confirm or refute this identification, please contact me!
