Bill thick and short. Greenish tones on breast. This photo was cropped from the photo used with the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher.
Detalles de la observación
Main support for Couch's: Bill looks too thick and short for average Tropical; wings show less contrast with wing edges. Couch's range is more typical for Kerr County than Tropical. Support, mostly for Tropical: Lots of fluffy green feathering on back and some greenish tone to breast. No evidence of yellowish tones in wings or tail. Other notes: Forked tail in flight, good for Couch's or Tropical, but not Western Kingbird. Bird did not vocalize. My impression is that it is an immature bird. It was perched in a tall, dead snag, sometimes in the company of an immature Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, between Johnson Creek and the HOH fence line.
