Begging call from juvenile, possibly more than one. See Details for more support from xeno-canto research.
Detalles de la observación
Only one found at close range. See photo. Grunting call recording, below. Xeno-canto sonogram for DCCO matches very low frequency low "tight, sticks, horizontal wall" in this sonogram. Only one DCCO, a juvenile, in audible range, but many NETOs. Another recording, under NETO shows this same "stick wall", but there are simultaneous, higher grunts from the many NETOs. Second record matches up well with begging juvenile DCCO at xeno-canto, XC143 573 from Mar 14, 2013, and XC 382 056 from Feb 6, 2013. One grunt from an adult NETO or DCCO heard in recording. The juvenile recording was made from calls coming from an close island, in front of the large tower/overlook, where all the Cormorant calls were originating.
