Detalles de la observación
At 7:23 pm, three flew in together at mach 1, earning their names, flew back & forth at dizzying speed, causing us to spin around and around on the slick Precambrian sandstone/quartzite (over a billion years old). Two ducked in behind the upper portion of the waterfall, then zipped out again to rejoin the third over the valley. Blurred photos to follow (though better than predicted, considering). One photo shows two flying together, almost touching (perhaps getting an aerial quickie). -- all-black swifts with squarish tails, slightly forked -- no white above or below -- long, scythe wings slicing the air with crazy purpose -- very deep wingbeats -- given to amazing acceleration from a standstill So worth the horrendous drive to get here! Thank you, Bryant, for the heads up on this place last year.
