Detalles de la observación
Observed one from 1011 to 1013. Initially just downstream of a Russian-olive in reach 4. Flew up apparently from the ground near the stream to perch in the Russian-olive, making "seep" calls. Then flew to the vicinity of a dirt bank along the stream, then back to a Rosa woodsii/Elaeagnus angustifolia area, then 20 m downstream to an Elaeagnus and then to underneath it, probably on the ground. Seemed nervous; I was 15 m away. At 1158, heard "chimp" calls ca 50-100 m upstream of the raised hill. On the return at ca 1328-1348, observed 4 SOSP foraging at the edge of the stream at the raised hill. 2 then 3 seen in close proximity, picking and scratching in leaf litter under Salix exigua within 1 m of the stream edge; 1 more seen at the same time briefly in a Cornus sericea ca 5 m away. Had been hearing occasional "seep" calls, but mostly silent. Ca 30 m upstream of where the SWSP seen earlier - watched them carefully to see if the SWSP was foraging with them, but did not see it again. Briefly observed 1 SOSP flit to the edge of a narrow band of ice at the stream edge and dip bill in the water twice. Then got video of one feeding on a Phalaris arundinacea head at the edge of the stream. Also briefly saw 1 feed on 1 Cornus sericea fruit. At 1457 on the return, saw a SOSP in reach 4 just N of the creek, near a large Salix (eriocephala?) clump, feeding in the leaf litter.
