Detalles de la observación
Continuing bird found on 9/26/18 by D. Assmann. Bird was finally seen on my third try. Initially, the bird called once, alerting us to its presence. After 45 mins of waiting, the bird flew from the low cut blackberry brambles between the path and pond 3, to the larger patch north of the path where it was being seen most often. The bird then skulked and foraged low and nearly on the path for about 15 minutes, providing good looks and photo opportunities. Small, compact thrasher with relatively short decurved bill. Bill was dark, with very light section at base of lower mandible. Pale gray on crown and above. Streaks on breast and belly patterned on white below. Dark cheeks with obvious light brown tinge to auriculars, giving the bird a look like it was slightly blushing despite the glaring yellow eyes and blank expression. White eyering. Very light, almost unnoticeable wingbars seen in a few of the photos.
