NOTES: 16 (9/7) songs of BIRD #4 recorded in two parts at 17:58:25 and 18:03:14; this cut began at 17:51:39, after bird began singing at 17:45 (though it gave only five songs before going quiet); I waited around in this area for the bird to sing this afternoon from 16:45; bird was 25-30 meters away and 25 meters up; bird was singing only intermittently; second part began at 17:58:43; no songs missed in-between; bird apparently never moved from densely vegetated tree; after cut ended, the bird sang again at 18:09:26, now back a distance from where he had been; recorded in NW part of reserve along perimetral road, ca. 200-250 meters NE of road into Sooretama Reserve [19¡ 04Õ 22" S, 39¡ 57Õ 06" W]; although rain seemed to be letting up by the time this cut began (heavy rain today from 12:00-3:00 pm, light rain thereafter), there was still some drizzle / light rain and many drips; full, dense overcast; intermittent, mild breeze; 79¡ F. ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Xiphorhynchus guttatus guttatus to Xiphorhynchus guttatus [guttatus Group] to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015.
