Exceptionally rare hybrid continuing from past week. Possible first MA record? Easily observed in the harbor right from the parking lot. Associating with BUHE, diving and chasing males around. Small duck, but slightly larger than BUHE. White body with two thin black lines. Black back, rump and tail that it sometimes held up like a RUDU. Round dark head, sometimes lifting up a crest with iridescent green towards the end. White on the face below the eye, interestingly covering the neck and throat.
