most of tape is terrible, quark calls and drum responses so faint they don’t show up on spectrograph, though I can dimly hear some ; but there are a few nice spots, like drumming at 00:17 and 00:23 is visible, and at 00:55 is really good 3-stars, also quarks at 01:03 is 3-stars, and 01:15 drum visible (but nothing shows up on graph after that, except nuthatches : few other quark calls after 01:15 are too faint)

heard lots of tap drumming and quark calls, till mostly quiet from 11am on ; tape of 3 heard drumming birds & quark calls: best taped drum is at 00:55, & quark-ing bird at 01:03 is prob the photoed Red-breasted SA that end of tape came to closest view : this is also prob the bird in flight at very start of tape, that sounds like I ordered my mother to return my bins to me, to see it! (she had thought she saw a sapsucker on a trunk, so I gave her my bins to look for it, but it was only wood, so then when really a sapsucker flies into view, I didn’t have my bins to look at it (& my mother wouldn’t have been able to ID it), prob that same bird is what did return back to view at end of tape, I got photos of); beautiful ski day with mom, mostly sunny, enjoyed with her, and, I didn’t want to go! (mom said she could tell in my voice this morning, I wanted to stay home) : but reflected, we haven’t had snow all winter till past couple weeks, I haven’t skied in 2-years, I haven’t played outdoors with mom in prob a year, is good to spend quality time with her and contribute to her life, and she really wanted to go and for me to go with her, and I’d like to know snow conditions at McKenzie Pass gate : enough snow to ski from closure gate to west, but 1.3-miles of crummy snow east of the gate unplowed but car tires packed/rutted it and some bare patches : 2017 Milli Burn closure signs still up, but only to south of Hwy : highway 242 itself doesn’t have any remaining fire closure ; — only encountered 1 snowmobile on highway, no other people till skis off ; (&, this morning heading off to ski, spilled boiling tea on my hand, burned badly, upperside 3/4 red and blistering and blistering edges, and by evening have a 1-cm round large raised blister center)
