Natural flight calls from seen bird (rare vagrant) at 13:40pm. First two cuts are poorer quality and were single notes given while bird flew between foraging perches. Last cut is higher quality when bird was making long flight across field with American Robins. Highpass filter 250 Hz in Ocen Audio. Lifer.
Detalles de la observación
Photos and recordings. Bird was actively flycatching from canopy of medium and large trees, loosely associating with some American Robins. Lifer. Subspecies ID based on Jordan Gunn's photos and Western Birds 29:180-198; 1998. Seems lugens cannot show so little white in the greater coverts, or dark bases of primaries as in Jordan Gunn's flight shot. Second calendar year based on fleshy bill base visible in Jordan Gunn's photos. Seems like it's probably a male based on dark gray to blackish tinges to crown edge and seemingly wide black breast band.
