Pip-pip calls.
Detalles de la observación
Nearly dark when found in the vicinty of the chess club building. Vocalizing from dead limbs at the apex of a tall tree (Eucalyptus) with Araucaria trees nearby. Calling pip, pip-pip, and pip-pip-pip. Flew east to the wooded area south of the restrooms. Then perched at the tops of various trees including oak. Color perception skewed by darkness. Peaked crest often raised dramatically. Mandible bright yellow-orange. I was unable to assess primary projection. Wing bars were obvious but neither bright nor bold. Overall dull pale-brown in tone. Wings brown, otherwise dull ashy-gray colored with slight suffusion of olive. Images. Audio recording.
