just enough to notice the bird in cornfield with snow pawed by deer
Detalles de la observación
continuing birds seen recently by MEUN CBC compiler. located on our second pass this location during local CBC at very top corner of JE upper cornfield with blue jay, American crow, American tree sparrow for superb size comparisons. Rusty blackbirds known this location several recent winters - birds persist into winter following warm and open late fall with sudden rapid freeze and icy snow (may be additional weather stimuli???). We may have flushed the birds by close approach, but we think they flew directly away from us to forest edge when starlings perched in nearby hardwoods flew directly overhead also to forest edge; then when starlings again moved, the rusties flew deeper into forest. note pale eye, rusty plumage on one bird and jet black plumage of bird in blurry photograph
