NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut #41. Bulk reel #518 Elevation: 70-100 m. Weather: Cloudy, fair. a) 6:00 AM. Natural song. Quality: 1-. Level: 0, +3. 7.5 ips. 203 tape. LN. Same bird after playback. Song and then some calls. Quality: 1. Level: +2. b) 7:15 AM. Probably the same bird, a long time after playback of any kind. Quality: 1-2. Level: +2. 3.75 ips. LN. This bird was collected (but specimen later lost) and examined. It had medium+ molting in the breast; no crown patch showing but concealed it had a small narrow patch of white, deriving not from all white feather but from feathers white at base only. Note: Several other birds were seen and heard in this area and all sang complex song similar to Cut 41, but sometimes used only simple phrases. However, all of them were more heavily mottled than the bird described above; none had any white crown patch showing.
