NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 4. Bulk reel: 369. Weather: fair. a) 5:05AM Calls ("croak") by one bird, then after some silence, a "wing-whirr". Other calls and "wing-whirrs" heard in background. (Also 1 song from crypturellus variegatus.) Length: 2'1". Quality: 2. Level: +5. Parabola: yes. Then change focus to a different bird that is closer. "Croak" calls, then after a short (17") silence, a "wing-whirr". Then calls ("croak") from the same bird its new position after the display flight (Faster calls of another in background.) Length: 3'53". Quality: 1. Level: +5. b) 5:45AM "Croak calls." This bird which was sitting 20m up on a branch of cecropia was then shot and fell but escaped by running. However in the fall in apparently hit against a low vine and lost a lot of feathers which have been saved and can be identified definitely as marail. (Momotus momota, Turdus albicollis in background) Length: 29". Quality: 2-3. Level: +5.
