Detalles de la observación
A continuing bird, originally found here in early December. Today, we saw it in the dense planted trees surrounding the northeastern corner of the Theatre building. A beautiful and truly distinctive warbler, characterized by deeply blue upperparts, a black face and throat, a mostly white underside, and a small white patch on the otherwise dark wings. Appeared to be similar in overall size to a Townsend's Warbler. First located by some chip calls, which were "heavy" in tone and perhaps similar to a Lincoln's Sparrow or Anna's Hummingbird. It was generally difficult to view in the vegetation, but at one point made a short trip to an open railing along the west face of Love Library, flying low over our heads on the way. We also saw it forage a few times on a pipe hanging from the Theatre building. Super exciting to see.
