Of all the many years I’ve kept up bird feeders at this house (on and off since 2015) I’ve never once gotten a purple finch at my feeders. I would stare at “purple vs house finch” images on the internet forever hoping one of my many house finches would turn out to be a PUFI in disguise, but not ever until today, when randomly at my bird bath a female PUFI, clear as day, flew in.
