Took my dog out to exercise. As we rounded the southeast corner of the house a large bird lifted off from underneath our feeders. At first I thought it was one of the turkeys that have been hanging around, but it was too small. Then, I saw the banding on the long tail. On the ground where it took off it looked like a feather pillow had burst and there was a tell-tale spot of blood. Tufted Titmouse. Interestingly, many--if not most--of the kills I've seen in the yard since we built the house in 1992 have been Tufted Titmice.
