Detalles de la observación
In the same paddock identified earlier in the day by Bernadette but closer to the intersection to Carey Rd. They were quite a distance off from the road and were quite a strain to see via bins - a scope would have been much better. The photos are pretty indistinct - through the bins, the birds looked more gracile, lightish brown and smaller than the banded lapwings seen around. Also more upright with pointed tails. Could only see 2 birds in the paddock so the others must be further away or well hidden. While editing pictures of the banded lapwings around a mound, an indistinct shape was noticed in the foreground of the lapwings - shape, size and colour appears to match another pratincole. The "head" of the object moves between shots so I think it's an animate oject. These are the 2 shots with lapwings in the back. Possible 3rd pratincole.
