Continuing bird originally reported by the Howards on December 4th, and a lifer for me! I immediately heard this very vocal bird constantly calling from a small garden shrub in the middle of the community garden, with a unique chip call that doesn’t quite sound like any of our common warblers. After a few minutes it popped out briefly providing fantastic close views, eventually flying off to perch on the fence and disappear. Simultaneously skulky and very cooperative, rarely coming out of the shrub but also very easy to track and view. Yellowthroat-like warbler with a dark mask broken up by a sharp yellow band connecting the eye to the beak. Photos and audio
