Detalles de la observación
A tiny beautiful Owl with a big head, no noticeable ear tufts, a prominent white V on its face, very noticeable brown streaking on its chest and belly, and white spots on its scapulars, seen sleeping in a modest sized tree with a "V" in it about 12 feet up, along that transition portion of the trail with a handrail that leads from the "civilized" portion of the park to the more "wild" portion of the park. See some pictures of the bird. I think this takes me up to 395 species for the year combined in any place I have birded in the U.S. this year. If I had not had to cancel my trip to southern Texas planned for late November due to my health issues, I would have for sure had made it to over 400 species this year. With me not able to to anything more until next Monday the 15th, it will take a Christmas Miracle to get to 400 species.
