Detalles de la observación
Juvenile Pluvialis plover feeding on a seep in the ice below the dam. In brief flights, underwings were clean gray with no black axillars. Narrower bill than on a Black-bellied. Vocalized several times giving wavering “plee” and “plee-do” calls that were recorded. 4-5 primary feathers visible past the tertials eliminates Pacific Golden-Plover. While capable of flight, left wing had a moderate injury but did not impede short-distance flight. Bird was healthy, alert, and actively (and successfully) feeding, catching several invertebrates during our observation.
