Continuing on the edge of J Lot, now joined by a second bird. Myiarchus flycatchers with pale yellow stomachs, white throats, and beautiful rufous colouration at the bases of the primaries and on the underside of the tail feathers. One bird was observed at close range for about twenty minutes before it began vocalising, at which point it was answered by another bird that was just out of sight in the cedars. The second bird then came into view and both began chasing one another while calling. A few other observers were also present, including one who was able to take video of both birds together; for my part I was unfortunately unable to get both birds in frame at the same time for a photo.
