First heard singing as soon as I stepped out of my car. Quite loud, rich song composed of four or five phrases strung together, something like "prreeet-prreet-prreet-prreeet-prreet" slightly descending on the last phrase. Might be compared to Carolina Wren but with more of a 'liquid' quality and less strident than that species. Extremely difficult to see singing from rank vegetation within damp, mixed woodland and showing for only a few seconds at a time. A totally unstreaked warbler, bright yellow below, olive above with diagnostic black face mask. Attached audio is quite long but includes three ‘bursts’ of song,
