Large duck with a black rump, thick neck, and steep forehead. Too distant to get any detail on the bill but white speculum visible in flight shots. Feeding on vegetation on the surface of the water like a coot. Very near the same location first reported by Adrian Burke a few days ago. These ducks are very skittish. Park by the yellow gate at the bridge and look east across the pond near the embankment.
