Detalles de la observación
The turkey vulture circles the same location at roughly 35 meters altitude making large round flight patterns at 10 meters in diameter. The birds wingspan stretches nearly 1.6 meters combined with the birds length of roughly 71 centimeters. The plumage of the bird offers colors of burnt umber, mahogany, and almost charcoal contrasted by the flight feathers ranging from shades of silver to light gray. The sharp hooked bill is visible as an ivory colored tool proficient at the dissection of carrion. This attached to the most striking crimson red head of the bird. Fortunately this bird appears content in this habitat of oak hammock and nearby low vegetation pasture. Due to this the bird was observing its surroundings and utilizing its well-developed sense of smell to search for food. The bird did not appear to feel threatened and did not exhibit any defensive behaviors, although observation of the turkey vultures defensive emasis would have been a spectacular sight, in a natural setting.
