Continuing bird found by Kirk S. on 11/08, started calling from a dense blackberry thicket at (38.51276, -122.09546) and continued calling periodically in response to some playback over the next 10 minutes or so. Mostly stayed hidden, but several of us got a few brief glimpses as it darted around in the undergrowth, enough to be sure of winter/Pacific wren but not any further based on visuals. ID based on call, which sounds like a fairly straightforward WIWR giving song-sparrow-like 'chimp' calls, though it did get a little squeaky at times. Audio.
