Detalles de la observación
Continuing heavily-documented rarity, first found 11/8. When we arrived, the kingbird was perched on farm equipment on the east side of Liberty Ln., just north of the Mt. Eden intersection, very close to the road. Naturally, as soon as our camera lenses were raised, it flew into the field on the west side of the street. It looked like it was going to keep going, but then hooked back toward the farm buildings, perching on the powerline this time. We got a few pics at this point before it took off again, this time going much deeper into the (private) property on the west side of the road. Much later, further north of the intersection, Joe spotted it via spotting scope, perched in the distance, near the top of a leafless tree. Mockingbird-gray-backed kingbird, with darker mask, white breast/belly and big bill.
