Kingbird with a pale belly, breast, and chin, slightly darker gray top of head, dark gray wings head, and long tail. I could occasionally see a faint pink wash on flanks and belly but the low light from the marine layer and time of day made judging color difficult. First seen on wires seen from about (33.77323° N, 118.41921° W), then flew downhill, making the long tail with a fork very visible. I never saw it spread its tail wide open. I think we heard it call a few times before we saw it, “pit” call that struck me as clearly a kingbird but less strident than a Cassin’s Kingbird call
