Detalles de la observación
All white Egret, with similar proportions as the larger Great Blue Heron. All yellow beak, greenish skin between eye and base of beak and grayish black legs. Upon reviewing literature regarding identification of the 4 subspecies of Great Egrets in winter plumage, I have concluded this egret is of the eurasian alba subspecies. As visible in my photos/video the upper part of the legs nearest the body are yellowish. It has no dark moustache mark on the beak and lores as found on the other three subspecies. The broad green loral skin is pointed and wider than the diameter of the eye, with the same green coloured gape that extends to the back of the eye, the loral skin nearest the beak is yellow. The narrow orange/yellow beak has a mostly straight culmen and gonys.
