Detalles de la observación
I was driving along, when suddenly the car in front of me slowed quickly. Immediately in front of that car was a bald eagle just taking off from the road. It seemed to flap in slow motion for several seconds, then veered off to a tree nearby. In its talons was a (presumably) road killed Opossum. I pulled off on the shoulder and grabbed my camera. Using the car as a blind, I spent around 10 minutes photographing the adult eagle ripping apart its breakfast. The bird was so focused on feeding that it didn’t seem to mind me watching from about 25 feet away. It definitely knew I was there, as I got many a harsh stare, but it never left its perch. After getting loads of photos, I moved on leaving the regal eagle to feast in peace. This was a Raw Nature experience, and the kind that keeps me getting out there.
