Detalles de la observación
***continuing, very rare in the county. I spotted it 0.20 miles west of the stone town boundary marker (towards Gate 36). It seemed to pop up out of the rocks, then it moved down to the grassy area right next to the rocks where I watched it forage in one small area for about 30 minutes before I left it and moved on. It was not bothered by the noisy Sunday foot traffic on the dike path. I tried to get pictures of it at various angles. My impression was of a somewhat large, washed out version of a Savannah Sparrow. Lots of pale gray on its upper parts along with small dark markings. Some dark wing feathers stood out to me as well. Fine markings on its underparts. White throat. It was by itself, no other birds nearby. I am happy to see that Amy Loveless also got the bird!
